Fifty Shades Freed by E. L. James
I thoroughly enjoyed the final book of the Fifty Shades trilogy. Throughout the series Christian continues to open up and it is exciting to see his character change. This was also more of a thriller than past books with a dangerous man stalking Mr. Grey and his family. I also really enjoyed the few chapters at the end of the book told from the perspective of Christian. It was refreshing and exciting to see him as a child and growing older. Am I the only one hoping to hear more about Christian and Ana's story?

The Heir by Paul Robertson
The Heir is the story of a man whose father leaves behind his fortune and empire to him after his father's questionable death. The son was a child of leisure, never expected to take over the reins of his larger than life father and is battling his own ethics and conscience after learning how is father amassed and continued to fund his fortune and power. The book is not long and as a result jumps a bit and at times is disjointed. The story was not bad but unfortunate the timeline was a bit too fast. Entertaining for a 99 cent read, but not one I would revisit. The characters have potential, the writing just felt rushed.

The King's Curse by Philippa Gregory
Perhaps my favorite of the Cousin's War Series, The King's Curse follows Margaret Pole, daughter of Isabelle Warwick and George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence, wife to Sir Pole, a country knight, sister to Edward Warwick, beheaded on the tower green for his name, and a Countess in her own right. Margaret served as Royal Governess to the Princess Mary throughout her childhood as well as Lady in Waiting to both Queen Elizabeth and Queen Katherine of Aragon. A woman central to court throughout her life while continuously trying to hide from her name for fear of her life. Margaret Pole was not only a Plantagenet but also Neville and Warwick, which gave her great support across England, especially during a reign of two very unpopular Tudor kings. Margaret Pole led a long life, into her sixties, where she ruled over her lands and was the matriarch to 4 boys and one daughter all of whom served court during King Henry VIII's reign which was full of suspicion, murder and shifting winds of favor.

Somewhere in France by Jennifer Robson
The story of Lady Elizabeth (Lilly Ashford), her brother Edward and Edward's friend Robbie, Somewhere in France takes place during the Great War, WWI. Lilly, daughter to an English Earl, wants to do her part for the war, just as her brother Edward and his University roommate Robbie have been able to do. Edward is an officer on the front lines, Robbie a Captain and surgeon at front line hospitals. Lilly keeps correspondence with both Edward and Robbie, lifting their spirits, while figuring out how to leave her mark of service, which is constantly being squashed by her parents. I adored this book. Lilly's strength of character is so refreshing and her story is unique and beautifully written.

The White Princess by Philippa Gregory
The White Princess follows the story of Queen Elizabeth, sister to the lost Princes in the Tower and daughter to King Edward. The York princess that was married to the Tudor king conqueror, Henry. Mother to Arthur, Prince of Wales and his younger brother, Henry. Queen Elizabeth ruled during a very tumultuous time for England. Considered a potential spy by her own husband, Elizabeth delicately walked the line of loyalty with her Plantangeant roots and her Tudor/York offspring. She was often used as an image stabilizer for the Tudor king, but very often not trusted. Still her guidance helped to soften the Tudor king, but her indulgence of her second son may have resulted in the selfish man and King he became. 5 snaps for me!
