10 Under $100
Maternity Striped Boyfriend Shirts / J.Crew shoes / LOFT slip on sneaker / Rebecca Minkoff white purse / Komono watch / Silver stud earrings / Ále by Alessandra summer hat / J.Crew Baby ruffle jumpsuit in thin stripe / J.Crew Baby one-piece in sunglasses / Maternity Ikat Print V-Neck Maxi Dress | Loft
This month's 10 Under $100 is a mix of baby pieces and maternity staples including some items that can be worn after baby comes. I am living in sneakers lately, so finding pairs that are work friendly have been essential. I also can't fit into any of my regular button downs anymore, except for one, so maternity friendly tops are a must.

Style Inspo: Audrey Hepburn
J Crew slim fit t shirt / Uniqlo trench coat / Helmut Lang jeans / Salvatore Ferragamo flat shoes / Rebecca Minkoff leather handbag / I Love a Lassie bow necklace / Ray-Ban vintage sunglasses
Audrey Hepburn is one of those icons that made easy dressing so chic. I love that she embraced the tomboy style and was a huge fan of cigarette pants and turtlenecks, one of my favorite looks for work day to day. I am obsessing over these Ferragamo flats in ballerina pink. Who wouldn't?

Wednesday Wishes: Nursery & An Update
My mom was in town last week helping us to get started on the nursery for our baby girl. I honestly am already so in love with her room and find myself nesting in there 24/7. These are all items that we are either considering or already have in place in the room. Her furniture is pretty much all set and now comes the fun part, decorating! We have a few decorations in place but more to come when my mom is back hopefully in April for my California Baby Shower.

The weather was beautiful in Aspen even though the snow was only so so. Still it was nice to unplug and get away from it all. I got some work done each day in the morning but had the afternoons to just relax. Exactly what I needed!

Currently Craving
I have my eye on this sleepwear set. I am thinking light pink, but navy is also a great classic. I think it could be great for now, the hospital and when the baby comes. What color do you guys think?

10 Great Date Ideas
10 Great Date Ideas by preppy-lizzy
Love has been in the air since Valentine's Day and as Dan and I prepare to welcome our little nugget this summer, we are soaking up some time to get in some dates before we are a family of three. Over the last few years we have come up with some pretty great dates ideas, that I wanted to share with you all. I would also appreciate suggestions for other date ideas!
1. Go Dancing - Head out just the two of you for drinks and dancing at one of your favorite places. A great way to reconnect with one another.
2. Knock off a Bucket List Item - Find something that you have never done and always have wanted to. Dan and I went skydiving for our anniversary, something we both had on our bucket list.
3. Take a Cooking Class - Go make sushi rolls together or a baking class. Get out of your comfort zone together.
4. Drive-In Movie - Find an old drive in movie theatre and take in a double feature. In LA you can find a few near the City of Industry that are still in operation.
5. Take A Walk - Go take a hike or a walk along the beach and talk. Catch up with your love.
6. Play Tourist in Your City - Go to a tourist destination in your own city. In LA you can try Disneyland, The Getty Center, Griffith Observatory, just to name a few.
7. Watch the Planes Land - If you live near a major airport (or really any airport with a decent amount of traffic), bring a picnic and watch the planes land.
8. Brunch - A great way to try out restaurants in your area that you have been wanting to. Enjoy a mimosa or two together as well.
9. Scavenger Hunt - Groupon always has good deals on city scavenger hunts. Or you can look online for an easy photo hunt you can do together wherever you live.
10. Game Night - Break out the board games and card games, order a pizza and make each other laugh by playing games.
Enjoy!

Transitions... Winter to Spring
Uniqlo brown trench coat / L K Bennett green coat / Frame Denim black jeans / DVb Victoria Beckham mid rise white jeans / Jigsaw pointy flat / Vince Camuto gray ankle boots / UGG Australia beanie hat / Logo baseball cap
With Spring approaching, it's time to shake off those winter blues and transition to our lighter weight gear. Spring is my favorite season by far so I am always excited when I have an excuse to rock my spring gear. It also helps that I can pretty much rock Spring layers year round in Southern California, but I am excited when the stores are stocking spring gear. What is your favorite season?

Wednesday Wishes: Preppy Ties for Guys
Lands End clothing / Billy Reid Heirloom Classic Check Tie / Forzieri Diagonal Stripe Silk Tie / Lands' End Men's Regular Regimental Stripe Necktie / Boys' Neckties: Sailfish Printed Tie for Boys – Vineyard Vines / Alexander Olch Necktie, Cream/Red/Multi Plaid
Beau Ties of Vermont provided a sample to review for today's post. All opinions are my own. No other compensation was received for this post. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Headbands & Bagels possible.
Today's Wednesday Wishes is focused on the men in our lives and outfitting them for those events where a tie is needed. Dan is one of the those guys that can easily pull off a bow tie or necktie, so when Beau Ties of Vermont offered him a tie to try out I knew he would be game.
The sent us a beautiful pink necktie that I cannot wait to pack him for our next wedding. Where do you find ties for your guys?

Bumpdate: 22 Week Q&A
Bumpdate: Week 22
Baby's Size: A PapayaGender: A girl!!
How I'm Feeling: Good. Eating throughout the day it seems. I like to have a yogurt with some fruit or a muffin in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. It really helps me from getting too hungry when I hit the gym after work.
Showing?: I can just barely see my toes now when I look down. I feel like my belly is really starting to take center stage, but as my friends have reassured me, since I lost some weight other places, I am rocking a cute bump and nothing else. Because of the weight loss I have been able to wear some flowy pieces a bit longer, but it was a sad day when I could not button up any of my non-maternity button ups anymore!
Big Developments: Baby girl is a kicking machine. When we watched Pitch Perfect the other day, she actually started to kick during every musical number.. it was eerie! Oh and I think I won't be able to see my feet shortly!
Loving: Nesting and prepping for baby. My mom is here this week to help us with the nursery. I feel like it will start to feel so much more real as we paint and get some furniture in there! I have also started knitting baby blocks for baby girl that will spell out her name. I knocked out a bunch of panels last week while everyone else was skiing. Next up, a chevron baby blanket.
Hating: Mornings! I seem to get my best sleep in the AM. I don't know if I finally feel comfortable or not, but getting up is rough.
Dreaming Of: Sushi and Hard Cider. I really have not had any cravings, but I am missing spicy tuna rolls and hard cider these days. That may be my celebration meal after we have baby girl.
Favorite Wardrobe Pieces: My Loft maternity shorts (pictured above) and Lululemon Wunder Unders. My shorts go with absolutely everything and now that I feel more and more like a furnace 24/7, I am wanting to live in them. I also just got out of living in my Lulu wunder unders all last week in Aspen. I have two pairs and pretty much wore them everyday. They go with everything, are thick and have a really comfy wide waistband.
Baby Finds: I've been trying to just window shop for the most part as I have my showers coming up still, but I found I was tempted and may have snagged one or two things over President's Day with such good sales. I am also obsessed with this onesie from J.Crew. I may just have to pull the trigger...

Beauty Tips for Winter Activities
![]() |
| via |
Living in Southern California for a while now, I have not gotten as diligent about taking care of my winter skin as I did when living in NYC, because the temperatures never dropped enough or the air never got dry enough to really dry me out.
Some of my tried and true tips still are to remember to:
1. Exfoliate by using my Clarisonic Mia Brush daily
2. Moisturize my face morning and night (and never forget my eye cream)
3. Moisturize my body as soon as I step out of the shower (while my pores are bigger and soaking in the cream)
4. Always go to bed with Bag Balm on (my diehard love of Bag Balm cannot be topped)
5. Carry shea butter cream and lip balm in my purse at all times (I love the EOS Sweet Mint)
Still there are often times I find myself dried out regardless of my efforts and because we still go skiing for a week every year, I figured I'd share the tips Stacy shared with me.
Ski Skin Survival
Let’s face it: the age-old question of how to look younger is something asked every day. In fact it always garners the most interest and simultaneously the most skepticism.
So, when temperatures drop and skin becomes dry, chapped and raw and you’re thinking about the must-have solutions to “shed the dead skin cells,” turning back the clock inevitably comes up.
Here are some of my’s top winter skincare anti-aging tips from my own test and trials to share with you:
- Seek Brands That Offer The "Full Package": Skincare brands have to be both esthetician AND HERBALIST (no more skin care lines offering just lotions and potions or supplements with their spin on anti-aging)! Try SeabuckWonders both parts of the line infuse us with fatty acids, A.K.A the Omegas 3, 6 and 9, which is great because, as we age, we are sorely lacking in these to support our collagen and elastin. SeabuckWonders also pushes the envelop by adding in Omega 7 and delivers the highest concentration of it on the market, as well as boasting Vitamin C, B1, B6 and Beta Carotene that bring nourishment to wrinkles and fine lines at the root source. It's a one/two punch that works.
- Juicing Is No Longer A Fad! It’s Here To Stay: Not everyone’s budgets can dictate a daily or weekly trip to juice-a-rama destinations, but fear not, I have the perfect home-based FYI solution. Check out Pines: The Wheat Grass People. In less than a minute a day and for about 25 cents per day, you can have a serving of wheat grass with the same nutrition as a serving of spinach. The Beet Juice Powder is another standout product from the brand high in lycopene and lutein, which are both players in the anti-aging game for optimal skin health.
- If Cleopatra Used It...Move Over Cleo...So Are We!: Green Virgin Moringa Oil has been used for thousands of years and was found in the tombs of the pharaohs and ancient Egyptians. The thing I love about this workhorse of a beauty product is that it leaves skin noticeably soft and healthy. Lots of the pricy skin care companies are including it in their ingredient lists. It absorbs so swiftly that the moisturizing effect can't be washed off like almost all moisturizers. And you can multi-task with this bad boy and use in your hair. Apply it to damp hair and comb in to disperse it. It also has the ability to work a little magic on cold sores once applied to them. Give it 24 hours and you'll be in a better place.
I have not been able to try all the products she recommended, but I do find that looking for similar products to the ones she shares have been beneficial. I am looking forward to using more of this advice on my upcoming trip! It's like having a personal Dr. Oz segment!

Gym Rat Report: All About Biceps
![]() |
| via Pinterest |
1. Bosu Push Ups (1 set, 15 reps/set): Using the bosu (looks like a yoga ball cut in half), get in a plank position with you hands on the bosu. Perform a typical push up and return to starting position. Repeat. You will feel wobbly for sure.
2. Mountain Climbers (1 set, 60 sec/set): Using a bench, rest your forearms on the bench with your feet extended behind you. Bring one knee towards the bench and return to start. Then repeat with your opposite knee. Continue for 1 minute.
3. DB Bicep Curl with Squats (4 sets, 15 reps/set, 12 lbs): Holding one dumbbell in each hand, stand with feet shoulder width apart. As you drop into a squat, bring both dumbbells upwards into a curl. Return to standing and lower dumbbells. Repeat.
4. DB Bicep Step Up (4 sets, 15 reps/set, 10 lbs): Holding a dumbbell in each hand, step up onto a aerobics board or box in front of you. Pause and step back off the box. Repeat on the other leg. That is one rep.
5. Sprints (1 set, 60 sec/set): Using the treadmill or open space, sprint for one minute to get your heart rate up.
6. Lateral Slides (2 sets, 60 sec/set): Many gyms have a lateral slide apparatus you can use. Removing your sneakers, you can essentially speed skate from left to right. If you don't have the slide apparatus, jump from left to right for 1 minute. Repeat.
7. Reverse Crunch (1 set, 40 reps/set): Laying on your back, bring your legs towards your upper body. Return to rest and repeat.
8. Plank (1 set, 60 sec/set): With your arms extended and toes planted, hold for 60 seconds.
9. Cable Bicep Curl (4 sets, 15 reps/set 10 lbs): Using a traditional cable machine, Stand with feet shoulder width apart and knees bent. Hold the cable at your side with arms extended. Pull upward till elbow is bent and cable is at your shoulder. Hold and bring back to rest. Repeat on both sides for one complete set.
10. Bicycles (1 set, 60 sec/set): Lay on your back and bring your knees to a 90 degree position. With your hands behind your head, bring your left elbow and right knee towards each other then rotate to your right elbow and left knee. This is one rep. Repeat for 1 minute.
11. Basic Crunch (1 set, 40 reps/set): Laying on your back, bring your upper body towards your legs. Return to rest and repeat.
12. Full Body Stretch: Stretch out for 10 minutes, especially focus on your arms.

What's in my Bag? Aspen Edition
White top / Athleta top / Denim shirt / Uniqlo down vest / ASOS Maternity Top In Premium Soft Jersey And Breton Stripe / Jeans / BumpStart Short Sleeve V-neck Maternity T Shirt (2 Pack) / Lyssé Leggings black pants / Sperry top-sider shoes / Nike shoes / H M infinity scarf / The North Face pom beanie / Dare 2b Girl's Posey Top Waterproof Ski Jacket / Snow Goggles / Kindle Paperwhite
Aspen is upon us and I was busy this past week getting all ready. Since I can't ski and Colorado is currently experiencing a heat wave, my activities will be limited while my family is out on the slopes so I am making sure to pack a variety of things to entertain myself. I'm looking forward to swimming in the heated pool, taking walks around town, getting a sightseeing pass to go take photos of the mountain with my camera, catch up on blogging, reading on my kindle and knitting baby blocks for my little girl. I am making blocks that will spell out her name, so this is a perfect opportunity to make some headway. Follow me on Instagram to catch all my snaps from my time in Aspen!

Ski Trip Tips & Tricks
We are hitting the slopes of Aspen this week and with any good ski trip, being prepared is key. Skiing is a great sport but it comes with its own risks that it pays to be prepared for. I am so bummed out that I don't get to ski this year but the risk of hurting our little lady is just not worth it.
I have been skiing since I was about three years old and since that time have helped a lot of my friends learn to ski. I also have seen what happens when you try to progress too quickly. Here are some of my favorite tips for beginning skiers.
1. Don't ski above your level. Don't just go up to the top. It's not only about your safety here but about those around you. An inexperienced skier going to the top of the mountain puts everyone ahead of them on the trail at risk. So many skiing accidents come out of inexperienced skiers taking out other skiers on their trail of destruction down the mountain. Be respectful of those around you and only ski on trails you are capable of.
2. Always wear a helmet. Helmets not only protect you from hitting your head on minor falls, but protect you and your head from accidents and collisions with other skiers. Almost everyone wears them now, but it wasn't so common when I was a kid. You can even rent helmets when renting skis if you don't have your own gear.
3. Ski only at speed you can control yourself. Don't ski to quickly. Learn to make your turns well and control your speed. A good lesson to live by is to only ski at speeds where you are still in control.
4. Learn to stop before leaving the bunny hill. I had a friend who was a decent skier. She had control going down the hill and decent form but could not stop. Like the kid in D2 who couldn't perform a hockey stop, she would yard sale at the end of every trip. Stopping is key skill to be learned on the bunny slope.
5. Wait on the poles. Probably the hardest thing to tell an adult learning how to ski, but poles are more of a hinderance when learning than a help. Our reaction is to rely on them to stop and often they get tangled in your legs when skiing, causing more falls and accidents. Instead, learning to ski without poles teaches you to focus on your balance and shifting your weight to turn rather than try to have the poles do it for you.
Wednesday Wishes: Ski Gear
We are off to Aspen shortly and I am finishing the process of packing my bag. Here are some of my favorite products when it comes to skiing and some others that I have my eye on, like these awesome America boot socks and those Sorel boots. What are your ski trip essentials?

Tuesday #Shoesday: Ski Trip
With our annual family ski trip upon us, Tuesday #Shoesday is all about what shoes you should pack for your annual trip. Even though I can't ski this year, I am excited to explore the town. I'll be able to snowshoe, explore town and relax by the fire. Since snow is to be expected, focus on packing shoes that are snow appropriate like Sorels and booties.
Spoil Your Honey
This post was sponsored by Savannah Bee Company. They provided me a sample gift set to review. All opinions and thoughts are my own. No other compensation was received for this post.
Still looking for something sweet for your honey for Valentine's Day? Well why not treat them to some actual honey! When Savannah Bee Company reached out to me about featuring one of their gift sets on Headbands & Bagels I was really excited. Going for actual honey at Valentine's Day is out of of the box of traditional food gifts like chocolate strawberries or truffles and something that is a fun play on words.
They were kind enough to send me the Valentine's set, The Sweetest Surprise, which was complete with two types of honey, truffles and honey caramel! The box comes beautifully packaged and each jar has a really nice description of the type of honey it contains and how it was made. I actually have never tried Winter White Honey before now and it's really yummy. It's more like a spreadable honey which makes it nice on toasts or shortbreads with some fruit on top.
The truffles that are included in this box are also not available year round. They are made by a local chocolatier, Adam Turoni, from Savannah, GA. I am a sucker for a good chocolate and it was a nice change to have a chocolate sweetened by honey.
Other than food gift sets, Savannah Bee also offers beauty sets and gifts made from beeswax and honey. I am tempted to try one of these next!
If you order by Thursday you still have time to have your gift overnighted! They also have weekly specials that you can save on different products all over the site. Thanks Savannah Bee for such delicious treats this Valentine's Day!!
