I love half-updos. I know people think they are so middle school, but I think they look elegant and are perfect for work. Being able to keep my hair out of my eyes without always needing a ponytail is a must for the office. This one is soooo easy and so beautiful when done. I feel a little like Princess Kate.

I am all about a half up style these days. It keeps my hair out of my face while at work without looking as casual as a ponytail. I have also always been a big bow fan, so making a bow out of your own hair definitely interests me. My hair is finally long enough to try this trick I think. This month's Pinterest hairstyle is a total breeze. Its elegant and can be great for a day at the office or for a formal event like a wedding. Begin by separating your hair into three sections. With the center section, put your hair in a bun or tucked ponytail. I prefer a tucked pony here but you can go with either. Then take one of the side sections and twist around the tucked pony, going over it. Pin down with bobby pins and then repeat with the other section. And voila! You are all set. I do recommend setting with hairspray for an all day hold.

This is my planned look for Christmas Eve dinner. Easy and graceful and a tad different from the standard braided updo, I love how knotted styles give a fuller volume to the look. Start on one side, whichever has more hair (if you center part, just pick a side) and star knotting around your head. Then fluff and pin up. It looks like a much more complex hairstyle than it actually takes to accomplish.

I have been getting better and better with french braids as I have practiced. My hair has not been long enough for a single french braid for a while, but it has been long enough for two braids. I think I am finally able to pull off the single french braid look. I love this for so many reasons. It's perfect for weekend errands, workouts at the gym, or casual Fridays at the office. It's pulled together and beautiful. Gotta give a shout out to Lauren Conrad for the tips! She always has great hairstyle tips.

This month's Pinterest hairstyle is all about the updo. It's still summer so an updo is still my favorite choice for everyday, both for work and play. This is a style that is a bit undone will still appearing put together. It is also a fresh change from the sock bun and ballerina buns, which are two of my consistent go-tos, especially on days where I don't wash my hair. What is also great about this style is that its doable for multiple lengths. Enjoy!

I have been using this hair tutorial for a few weeks now and this past Sunday I modified it into to ponies for an All-American Girl Next Door look for the USA match against Portugal. I love that the french braid on either side keeps your hair off your face. The bun is a great look for the office or a night out, while going with just a plain pony or pigtails is perfect for a day at the beach.

This is a great updo for work, weekend errands or summer weddings and parties. It is almost as quick as a fancy ponytail but much more graceful. Just a bun, two easy twists and a few bobby pins and you are polished while staying cool with your hair up. You can also easily add a few cute embellishments to add some flair to your hair. I am in love with this double knot for a ponytail. I am currently growing my hair back out so that I can add the second knot but I love who this looks because it can be casual enough for everyday but fancy enough for a wedding or special event. I am a pony tail fanatic but since I chopped off my long locks in return for a long bob, I had to come up with some pony alternatives that don't result in a stubby looking ponytail. Hence this twist ponytail. I love that it is close to your head and is a great option in a more conservative office like mine. It allows me to have my hair back without it looking too juvenile.

Pinterest Hairstyle - Flatiron Beach Waves

This may be the easiest hair tutorial ever that I am absolutely in love with right now. I tried this at the gym the other day after taking a shower and found it to be insanely easy and my new go to for creating volume. I have a lot of hair, but its very fine, so it's hard to keep volume throughout the day. I have also found that you get tighter waves if you twist smaller sections of hair. Twisting 5-8 sections I get a lot more bounce. You can also braid your hair into sections then twist and flatiron for some more volume!

Pinterest Hairstyle - Quick and Easy Updo

I used this easy Pinterest hairstyle for a wedding last year and it was so easy it was crazy. You can embellish it anyway you want. I used a just my earrings to embellish but you could also go the route of a hairpin, headband or flowers like the demo below shows. If you have bangs you can let them fly or add a small braid to add detail.

Who doesn't love Pintrest? Essentially everyone has a Pintrest account, but what is interesting is what different individuals use Pintrest for. I originally started an account when planning my wedding but found that what I am most often pinning are DIY hairstyles, recipes and vacation spots. As a result I wanted to start sharing the DIY hairstyles I have found and loved because of Pintrest.

This first hairstyle I instantly fell in love with how easy it was! I am a ponytail addict, so this totally made my day!
