With my wonderful friend Suzanne getting married this coming weekend and it time to start planning bachelorette parties for those summertime weddings, I wanted to share a few tips and ideas for planing a great bachelorette party.

1. Think about your bride's personality.
It is important to take your bride's personality into account when planning a bachelorette party, especially if they are not going to be involved in the planning. Remember that you are throwing a party for the bride and your idea of a dream bachelorette party may not equate to their dream party.

2. Plan activities around the location of your event.
Use your location to plan unique and fun activities. Host a photo scavenger hunt using your surroundings, or go sight seeing. The party does not have to be drinking all the time.

3. The people make the party, not the location.
This is important for both brides and bridesmaids to remember. Your bridesmaids put a lot of effort into planning your party and the people who take the time to attend your party are so much more important than any activities, gifts or locations.
4. A little embarassment can be a good thing.
Even if your bride does not want penis themed items all over the party, you can still find ways to embarrass them a little bit. Theme dress up nights, fun hats, wigs and sashes, or even a good old fashioned Lingerie Shower can be all in good fun and still make your bride blush a little bit.
One of my favorite bachelorette party things you can do is to have a Panty Line. It consists of hanging 8 pairs of panties off a close line and then reading this poem aloud. The needed panties are: bridal white sexy lace for the honeymoon, red or hot pink for Valentine's Day, leopard for the 1st Anniversary, 1 pink and 1 blue for babies, sexy full cut pair for 25th anniversary and a pair of granny panties. I still remember my panty line and know each pair in my drawer and I loved sharing this for Suzanne's Lingerie Shower at her bachelorette party.

5. Remember that this is girl time!
Your bride is about to become part of a permanent couple, so this is time to spend just the girls! Keep the talking with significant others to a minimum or not at all during the bachelorette party. How often do you get a girls only party away from the boys!
