Vanessa Abrams: Urban Hipster Inspiration

Vanessa Abrams, aka Dan's childhood best friend, brought to my life the style of urban hipster chic. She was the perfect blend of hobo and urban hipster rolled into one and most of my favorite looks from her are in her more casual scenes.

She inspired me most in her choices of patterned shorts, but the girl could also rock a dress quite easily. While her storyline fell off the show, her lasting impression on Gossip Girl's style radar is still remembered. She was a master of mixing prints and pairing bold jewelry with her outfits.  Both of those skills I have tried to gain from her.

Vanessa's style is completely opposite of my own, which is perhaps why I found myself so intrigued by the costume choices for her week to week. I only wish I could pull of some of these looks like she does.

Honestly these are two of my most favorite dresses ever shown in the history of Gossip Girl,

so I had to give Juliette some love too.

Jenny Humphrey: Good Girl Gone Goth Fashionista

Jenny Humphrey is an intersting character, especially in terms of her style development over the course of her run on the series. Probably the character most unlike her character in the book, Jenny goes from blonde innoncent to goth fashionista, scheming her way utlimately out of New York.

While I wouldn't necessarily say I gained much style inspiration from Jenny's character, I did enjoy how her style developed with her character's storyline and the risks she continuted to take throughout the series in terms of her fashion choices.

Lily van der Woodsen: A Hot Style Mama

Continuing my ode to Gossip Girl Style, I am highlighting some of my favorite Lily van der Woodsen looks. Lily is very classically styled, much like Blair Waldorf, which is perhaps why I gravitate towards her looks only behind Queen B herself and Lily's daughter, the ultimate in cool girl style, Serena.

I hope to carry myself (style wise) as Lily did as I move from my twenties on. She knows how to dress her body and continually picks classic silhouettes. I also adore Lily's up dos. I wish I could recreate the perfect Lily bun. Finally I love her jewelery. She loves great statement necklaces and earrings and always balances them perfectly with her outfits.
