Color Therapy: Rose Gold

Color Therapy

Apologies for the crazy hiatus last week. I have been running around catching up after coming home from NY and celebrating my birthday. On my actual birthday I was so exhausted that we ended up just grabbing dinner at In-n-Out and snuggling on the couch watching The Amazing Race after Dan took me to Nordstrom to pick out a birthday present. We picked out the dusty rose Cedar Street Maise handbag from Kate Spade that I have been eyeing for months now.

Since Tuesday was a low key night we used Friday night as another celebration and we headed to downtown LA for Captured LA. You get locked into a room with up to 7 other people and have to solve the clues to get out before your hour is up. Dan and I were with a group of five teenagers and we weren't sure how it was going to go, but we ended up smoking it! We missed the record by one minute and were out with 23 minutes to spare. We were pretty stoked since the success rate has only been 8% so far.

After our puzzles we went out on the Art Walk downtown for dinner and then headed home. Saturday night we celebrated my birthday with Dan's family at dinner and then today we celebrated with our friends at a beach day. It was a pretty great weekend of events, hence my MIAness.

I'm hoping to get back on a regular schedule this week and be on top of my posting game since I know I will have to be prepared in advance in the coming months when baby girl arrives!

Color Therapy: Lavender

On the color block for this month's Color Therapy is my good friend Lavender. I love this shade of purple, as it is delicate, feminine and not overly girly. Our daughter's nursery is actually a mix of lavender and grey depending on the light and I adore it. I find that I personally have mixed lavender in most in accessories, but would love to branch out to a great pair of shoes or shades. I also would love to find a great bikini in this color palette. I think it would really compliment a summer tan. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Color Therapy: Eggplant

I really like the color eggplant when it comes to clothing and decor alike. Eggplant is an unexpected color choice that can really amplify your outfit. It is also a color that can easily be used as a staple neutral in your closet, much like navy.

Color Therapy: Grey

Color Therapy

Grey is really one of my favorite colors or lack of a color. I find it super chic and something that is the perfect neutral. Grey is perfect with any other color in your wardrobe and is something more unexpected than black or white. Grey is great for work or play. How do you style your grey?

Color Therapy: Gold

Color Therapy

Is there any color that screams the holidays more than gold? I didn't think so. I am totally inspired by all the gold I am seeing in clothing, shoes and jewelry right now. There is also something so luxurious about wearing gold in your outfit. Don't you think?

Color Therapy: Navy

If you looked in my closet you would see that blue is the dominate color and of all my blue pieces, navy is hands down the winner. I love navy blue. It is a color that I treat just like I do black. Flattering, Slimming, Neutral, Perfection. Navy blue was one of my wedding colors. I don't think I can go more than a few days without something being navy in my outfit. Do you have any colors that are like that for you?

Color Therapy: Ruby Red

Color Therapy

Red is one of the those colors that just makes you feel powerful. Whether its a swipe of red lipstick, a killer bag, awesome gym sneaks or a great piece of clothing, I always feel my mood boost when I put on some red. What is our power color?

Color Therapy: Emerald Green

Color Therapy

This month's Color Therapy is all about green. More specifically, emerald green! I love the deep jewel tone that is emerald when it was the color of the year a few years back and I still love it now. Green is one of those colors that looks good on almost everyone but so few people actually have it in their closet. I have a lot of green tops but almost no dresses or skirts. I also think it is such a flattering color in jewelry. Who doesn't want to dream that those costume studs are actually emeralds? So hail to green and making everyone green with envy at how good you look!

Color Therapy: Blue

Color Therapy

Anyone who knows me, knows I am all about Blue. It dominates my closet without question and I am so OK with it. It is my favorite color and I have blue pieces in everything from shoes to dresses to tops to purses. And when it comes to shades of blue, the top dogs are navy and french blue without question. My wedding shoes were even my something blue! Do you have one of those colors that you are drawn to over and over again.

Color Therapy: Pink

Color Therapy... Pink

Amanda Uprichard pink dress, $365 / Miss Selfridge jumpsuits romper / L.K.Bennett high heel pumps / The Cambridge Satchel Company leather satchel / Beats by Dr Dre accessory / Pink glasses

After the color blue, pink dominates my closet. It may be because hot pink, navy and white is my absolute favorite color combo (and therefore were my wedding colors), but there is something about all shades of pink that is just so cheerful and bright. Right now I am rocking two shades of pink on my nails even, Essie Fiji on my fingers and Essie Mod Square on my toes. Pink is a color that makes me feel feminine and powerful simultaneously. What does pink do for you?

Color Therapy: Yellow

Color Therapy

I had mentioned on the blog a few weeks back that after color coding my closet I noticed I had next to no yellow in my closet. I actually had only one shirt and zero dresses. I decided it was time to add a few pops of yellow to pop against a summer tan. Lemon yellow is popping up everywhere from Kate Spade to Ann Taylor so its a perfect time to grab some great options.

Do you have any of those colors in your closet that are missing?

2014 Pantone Color of the Year.... Radiant Orchid

The 2014 Color of the year was announced yesterday and I am excited to say Radiant Orchid is just beautiful. I am excited to see how retailers and designers incorporate the color into their lines. Radiant Orchid is warmer than the cooler purples, like Lilac. It can also be a difficult color to pull off, but I am still excited to try and see how it looks on my skin tone!

Are you happy or disappointed about the 2014 Color Choice?
