What's On My Kindle? - May Edition

What's Been on my Kindle? - May 2014

What's On My Kindle?

Wool by Hugh Howley
Wool is an amazing book written by a guy who originally self published. Innovative, creative and unlike anything else I have ever read, Wool tells the story of a community living underground in a silo over 100 stories deep. It is completely self sufficient and from the top story they can see what was once the world we all know crumbling and abandoned. Why are they there? What caused them to go underground? It is a great mystery with action, intrigue and plot twists.

Shift by Hugh Howley
The second book to Wool, Shift starts to give you more history into the silos and how humanity came to be in them to begin with. A back and forth of ethical questions and personal struggles, shift follows  those that know and are pulling the strings and those that know nothing but their history as silo dwellers. An excellent read that really pushes boundaries and forces you to question what you would do. I am looking forward to reading Dust, the final book in the series.

WGWT: What Goes With This

Today's post is sponsored by Brandbacker and WGWT. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the companies and brands that make Headbands & Bagels possible.

Today I am really excited to bring you a really cool new social media platform that's akin to shopping with your friends online. While so many of us online shop these days it can be hard to get the same experience of shopping in store with your friends. What WGWT or whatgoeswiththis.com does is allows you to share an item or look you are contemplating and get feedback from friends and other fashionistas online. For today I created a look I would wear to summer brunch with the girl friends. What I have to ask you all is, what do you think?

Check out the outfit I made on #WGWT!

I like how clean the outfit posts are and how easy it is to get feedback. I will definitely use this site with my girlfriends and all of you more often along with Polyvore.

Happy Birthday Mama!

My beautiful mom back in 1988.
Mom and I overlooking the Hollywood sign in February.
Happy birthday to my rock, my role model, my friend, my confidant, my mom. While she and my sister are twins in personality, my mom keeps me straight and has not only been my mom but an amazing friend, especially in my adult years.

Myself, Dominique, Mom and Meme at the Square Dance this past Memorial Day Weekend.
She never judges and only gives me advice from her heart. She looks out for me at every life turn, and even though we are 3000 mile apart, we are only a phone call away. I talk to her everyday and look forward to her annual visits just us girls.

Mom and I on her visit this past February.
Happy birthday momma.

Me as a baby.
