Wool by Hugh Howley
Wool is an amazing book written by a guy who originally self published. Innovative, creative and unlike anything else I have ever read, Wool tells the story of a community living underground in a silo over 100 stories deep. It is completely self sufficient and from the top story they can see what was once the world we all know crumbling and abandoned. Why are they there? What caused them to go underground? It is a great mystery with action, intrigue and plot twists.

Shift by Hugh Howley
The second book to Wool, Shift starts to give you more history into the silos and how humanity came to be in them to begin with. A back and forth of ethical questions and personal struggles, shift follows those that know and are pulling the strings and those that know nothing but their history as silo dwellers. An excellent read that really pushes boundaries and forces you to question what you would do. I am looking forward to reading Dust, the final book in the series.
