Guest Post: Nautical Wednesday Wishes

Today Kate is back from Nautical by Nature to share her favorite Nautical Wednesday Wishes. Thanks to Kate for being twice as nice and formatting a Headbands & Bagels weekly post to her blog's theme! Thanks Kate!

Hi I am Kate from Nautical by Nature. Today I am sharing my Wednesday wishes-nautical style of course!
Captiva Tunic Cover-up in Resort White Watch Out, Lilly Pulitzer, $118: This tunic cover up features roll up sleeves and pockets! You can wear it over your bathing suit during the day and then as a top with jeans or white pants at night. Anchor straw tote, Vineyard Vines, $188: This bag is roomy enough for all of your beach day essentials. There is a zip pocket inside for your phone, money, etc. Triangle bikini top in navy floating anchor, J.Crew Factory, $20 (bottom, $20): The anchor print on this bikini might be my favorite J.Crew anchor print. The anchors really pop against the navy. Critter flip flops, J.Crew Factory, $15: I have these flip flops and they are as comfortable as they are cute!

Guest Post: Packing the Perfect Beach Bag

Today the lovely Kate of Nautical by Nature is guest posting for me. We started out as blogger/viritual friends who, now having the opportunity to hang out, I call a true friend! She is amazing and always finds the best nautical pieces to share. She was one of my first blog role models and I am so lucky to call her a friend. Without further ado, take it away Kate!

Hi everyone! I am Kate from Nautical by Nature and am so excited to be posting for Elisabeth while she is out of town. We have met twice in person and I can now call her one of my blog friends turned in real life friends!

It is officially beach/pool/lake season so grab your favorite tote and let's head to the water!

Ipod or iphone for music
Snacks: I always have snacks with me. Maybe it's the nanny in me? I don't want to be starving or searching for food if I have a prime spot on the beach. If you are pool side you may be able to easily order food but just in case I suggest bringing along something small
Water! It is important to stay hydrated if you are going to be in the sun. I use a Camelbak Eddy bottle
Sunscreen: Number 1 thing! I put on moisturizer with sunscreen every morning, rain or shine! When I go to the beach or pool I use the Neutragena UltraSheer dry touch sunblock because it isn't greasy, doesn't make me break out, and just feels good on my face. I am looking for a new sunscreen for my body though. I would prefer something with a low number on the EWG site if possible.
Chapstick with SPF: I love Nivea Lip Care A Kiss Of Moisture
Hat: I have a Vineyard Vines baseball hat that I love and bring on all my trips.
Cute coverup: I have several coverups (guilty!). I have a striped one from Vineyard Vines that is my go to. This year I love the Vineyard Vines whale tail tunic or Lilly Pulitzer Captiva tunic cover up (so many fun patterns!)
Wet swimsuit bag: If I am going to be in the water at all I bring a wet swimsuit bag. Previously I used one from Gap but it is getting really dirty so I will be switching to an anchor one from Hayden Reis
A good book: Lots of bloggers have recommended Where'd You Go, Bernadette so that's on my summer list
Sandals/flip flops and
sunglasses are a given (my favorite nautical flip flops)
What's in your bag?

Meet Nautical By Nature - Blogger Q&A

Kate's blog Nautical by Nature was one of the first blogs I ever started reading. I love how she finds amazing nautically themed pieces at all price points. She doesn't just limit her blog to fashion but also branches frequently into home goods, organization, travel and everything baby. She is not only blogger but also takes care of her adorable nephew and she shares all her great tips and tricks she has learned working with toddlers.

The lovely Kate of Nautical by Nature
Kate and I realized we both lived in LA a few months ago and decided it was important for us LA blogging gals to stick together. We both share a strong love of the Fall (and east coast weather) as well as everything preppy and nautical. So this collaboration is our first endeavor into working together more.

Describe your personal style in three words.
1. nautical
2. comfortable
3. toddler friendly

I can’t leave home without: my phone, lotion, chapstick, some kind of snack

If I were any accessory, I would be: a headband with a big bow

What are your three favorite places to shop?
1. J.Crew
2. Vineyard Vines
3. Bloomingdales

What is your favorite travel outfit? J.Crew popover shirt, Gap ponte legging jeans, and flip flops or ballet flats

What outfit do you go to when you want to feel strong and powerful? I feel the most confident when I am wearing something I feel comfortable in whether it's jeans and a t shirt or my go to LBD

What is your go-to handbag right now? During the week I use a Vineyard Vines tote because it can hold a ton (now that I don't have to carry a separate diaper bag) and all of the pockets keep me organized in my job as a nanny. On the weekends I switch to a Juicy Couture bag (with an anchor) or Tory Burch Amanda crossbody bag (both of them are much smaller!)
Juicy Couture bag
What are you reading right now? Fangirl (I've read the author's other two books and just started this one)

What is a guilty pleasure of yours? Reading Go Fug Yourself and Celebrity Baby Blog daily and (frequent) trips to Target
What company milestone are you most proud of? I will be celebrating my 6th blogversary in November!

What blogs have you visited recently? Headbands and Bagels (duh), Shell Chic'd, Oh Buoy Boston, Big City Tyro, Easily Entertained , Preppy Pink Crocodile, Harriet Ann Creative
