Thanksgiving Recap - Quality Family Time

Thanksgiving was an absolute blast this year. We had probably the biggest guest list we've ever had at Dan's sister's house, but it worked out great. My parents and sister joined us for Thanksgiving this year in California and it was so nice to have one big family holiday. We picked them up from LAX on Thursday morning and were quickly off to Orange County to start celebrating.

Our guest list this year was 16 strong and included Dan's mom Peggy, my parents Howie and Claire, my sister Dominique, Dan's sister Laura and her boyfriend Jason, Dan's cousin Jimmy, his fiancee Anna and their friends Jimmy and Tanya, and our wonderful hosts, Dan's sister Julie, her husband Tom and our nephews Jake and Max.
Anna, myself and Dominique prior to dinner.
We enjoyed appetizers with football which were all amazing. Julie even made meatballs in honor of my Aunt Bern's side of the family, who host an Italian style Thanksgiving every year. We then sat down to eat around 5 and then just hung out for the rest of the night. Dan, Tom, Jimmy, Jason and Laura played poker into the wee hours, while most of us were already asleep.
After I told Jake he was a great nephew, he responded "Well, you're a great Aunt."
It was awesome having both families together. It is really nice when both families get along so well and are genuinely happy to see one another.

After some Black Friday shopping with all the ladies, we headed back to LA with my family and celebrated Dan's birthday a little early on Saturday night with Italian and drinks out with friends at the Hermosa Beach Pier. They maybe even was some guys vs girls flip cup action at the bar which included my mom and dad.
The Dudes Squad: Bop, Hawk, my Dad, and Dan.
The Chick Squad: Mom, Dominique, Jacqui and I.
It was sad to say goodbye to them Saturday night but so glad we had one hell of a Thanksgiving! How was your Thanksgiving?
Miss them already!
