SCBS Blogger Brunch: The Sunny Spot Venice

Last Sunday I had the opportunity to attend the SoCal Blogger Society Brunch at Sunny Spot in Venice, CA. It was a smaller group than the last brunch which was really nice as we were able to all interface and talk more intimately with one another. I got to know a bunch of the other bloggers in the LA and SoCal area better which was great and we even started talking about some fun collaborations we could all do together.

I also finally got to meet Kate from Nautical by Nature in person. We have had a virtual friendship for the last six months and kept trying to figure out a great time to meet. It was so great and we are looking forward to hang out again this coming Saturday with Leeann of Join the Gossip at the Eat|See|Hear movie viewing.

Eat|See|Hear is a company that produces those awesome outdoor movies each spring/summer. Complete with food trucks and live music, it's quite the outing. This Saturday at 8:30pm at Santa Monica High School, you can catch 500 Days of Summer and maybe meet some of your favorite LA Bloggers! Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. There will be some great food trucks and doors open at 5:30pm.

The Sunny Spot is a fun place with a nice location, although its very trendy and a bit difficult to get in. If you don't have a reservation don't show up, it is packed throughout brunch. Also there is only valet parking unless you want to hike over, and that wasn't really an option for me with the knee and crutches.

The food was good and drinks were even better. The mimosas, coffee and punch were flowing. I had a fried egg scramble that had a great Korean flair and heat, just like I like it. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area, just make a reservation in advance! The only other thing that was a bit frustrating was that they are working to flip tables and our waitress told us before we even ordered that there was another reservation following ours at the table so we needed to get our orders in ASAP. Maybe not the smartest thing to tell a bunch of bloggers? Otherwise it was a really fun afternoon.
